Murti is a small town in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal and is situated on the banks of river Murti. This place is about 8 kilometres away from Chalsa, India and 60 km away from Jalpaiguri which is famous for its picturesque scenery. Excellent
scenic beauty is the main attraction of this site. Both Gorumara National Park and Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary are very close to Murti. One can get day visit pass
from Lataguri Interpretation Centre to enter the National Park and
Sanctuary.
Murti is a river that
originates in the Neora
Valley National park and flows through prime tourism area
of Dooars before
meeting Jaldhaka river. The river reaches the plains at Samsing, further
inside Dooars, it divides the continuous stretch of forest of Gorumara. The forest
on the left bank being called Chapramari and the forest on the right bank known
as Gorumara. Further downstream, it meets river Jaldhaka and enters Bangladesh
near Mathabhanga. Inside Bangladesh the Jaldhaka river meets the mighty
Brahmaputra.
From its origin till it meets Jaldhaka river, Murti is
about 80 kms in length. The river is famous due to the number of tourist
destinations on its both banks. Almost the entire stretch of the river is
dotted with tourist spot with a number of resorts, forest bungalows, picnic
spots sprawling besides it. The most famous watchtowers of Gorumara National
Park such as Chukchuki, Medla and Jatraprasad are all located overlooking river
Murti.

of thick forest, one can often spot wild animals like Elephants, Rhinos, Deer
etcetera who come down to the river bank to satisfy their thirst.

Murti the destination
A particular place on the bank of river Murti has also
assumed the name of the river. For most tourists visiting Dooars, Murti means
the riverside of North Dhupjhora area.
Even during the late 20th century, the area was heavily
forested and infested with wildlife and decoits. Few people would cross the
forest after darkness. And the road from Murti crossing over Chapramari
forests reaches National Highway at a junction that is still called
“Khunia” crossing. Over the years the wild life population saw an increasing
trend whereas the miscreants slowly withered away. Today the area is one of the
most peaceful and arguably one of the best places to soak in the natural

This is a forest bungalow operated by West Bengal Forest Development Corporation. It is located right on the banks of the River Murti, really nice place for a dip. It is surrounded by wilderness and is a great place to unwind. The staff are great and helpful. Food is basic but more importantly hygienic. You have to inform in advance for arrangement of food.

Overall good hotel, staff are good behave
with smiling face. Food quality also good the hotel dining room is well
decorated. Left service is also good hole time left service is available.

Rooms were spacious, amenities were good.
Unfortunately, due to a natural calamity, the TV was not working. Food was up
to the mark, but, the service was not so. They took a lot of time to serve
food, both in the restaurant and in the room.

The room was beautiful. Staff were very
friendly. Food was good. Swimming pool was awesome. The area of the resort is
huge. Lots of facilities available like spa, badminton, gym etc. Would love to
come back for another stay.

The room booked through make my trip was
untidy and not up to mark. It is a kind of outdoor room and isolated from the
main resort area or corteges. Also geezer was not there. Though hotel stuffs
provide hot water in buckets but not a standard room I found.

Very peaceful and eco friendly atmosphere.
Service was good. It was associated with murti river, so one can enjoy the
nature's beauty very closely. The place is best for rejuvenation. Loved the
tribal dance organised there.

We booked this hotel for 3 days. Most 3rd
class hotel ever seen. Only location is good. Rest food is not good and
expensive. Negative rating for cleaning. Helpdesk was not helpful, try to cheat
you by asking more money for sightseeing. I will never book this hotel again...

Situated in the walking distance from Murti river.
Constructed in large area with decorated garden, park, badminton court. Foods
are very good. The cook will make customized food as per your need and the
price are also reasonable. Ideal for couple outing, friends
for picture
